Mike Marino is a dynamic, respected senior-level human
resources professional with almost twenty years of experience and a proven
track record of success in all aspects of people management,
including employee relations, recruitment/retention, training & development,
executive coaching, benefits/compensation administration and employment/labor
law.
He is a proven leader, problem-solver and strategic/tactical planner with
numerous start-up, continuous-improvement, rightsizing and turnaround
achievements.
Mike began his career as an employment attorney. He graduated from Brooklyn
Law School, where he was a legal research assistant on employment and
labor law issues. His first position was with a boutique Wall Street law
firm, where he helped set two important legal precedents in the area of
employment law. Mike went on to prosecute employment discrimination complaints
for the Commission on Human Rights, then later served as chief employment
counsel for the Human Resources Administration, one of the countrys
largest public employers with over 30,000 white/pink/blue-collar
employees.
Mike segued into the field of human resources by joining ECCO Staffing
Services, Inc. as their head of HR for the U.S., where he was responsible
for recruitment, compensation, benefits, training & development, employee
relations and EEO compliance/reporting for 45,000 regular, temporary and
payrolled employees in all fifty states.
He then joined Bloomberg, L.P., both establishing and implementing the
employee relations/EEO function for this rapidly growing financial information
services firm with 4,000 employees in over forty countries.
Mike went on to lead the HR function for the corporate headquarters and
New York office of the worlds largest public relations firm, Burson-Marstellar,
where he managed employee relations/EEO, benefits and training & development,
in addition to heavy-volume recruitment.
He continued in the PR industry as Vice-President of Human Resources for
Noonan/Russo, Communications, Inc., an innovative, cutting-edge international
public relations firm specializing in the bioscience sector, where he
created the human resources function and established the HR department.
As a consultant, Mike has worked with clients throughout the US and Canada
on a wide variety of human resources and employment law related matters.
